Getting legacy skins in League of Legends can feel just like opening Hextech chests or orbs the chance is there, but let’s be honest, it’s almost never the skin you actually want. You keep hoping your main’s legacy skin will show up, but most of the time, it’s just a random pull.
That was me, chasing a Vladimir legacy skin for ages. And today July 16, 2025 I finally got it. Not through orbs, not through rerolls, but through a method I tested that actually worked in the Your Shop.
In the next section, I’ll break down how the Mystery Shop works, and why this simple trick might just be the best shot at getting the exact skin you’re after.
How Your Shop Works
According to the League of Legends wiki Your Shop page, Your Shop offers six discounted skins based on your match history from the last six months. Discounts range between 20% and 70%, and it typically won’t show two skins for the same champion.
The system prioritizes non-legacy skins first, so if you already own all the regular skins for a champ, there’s a better chance a legacy one could appear. Legendary, ultimate, prestige, and recently released skins (less than 90 days old) are excluded from the offers.
Some Reddit users say that the version of Your Shop where legacy or rarer skins appear only happens once a year and that most other versions mainly focus on standard skins. But in my experience, Your Shop has been showing up more often, about once a month, and I’ve actually gotten legacy skins multiple times using a simple method.
So while there’s still some randomness involved, it’s not completely luck based Your Shop is shaped by your match history, what champs you play, and what skins you already own.
What I Did: My Personal Mystery Shop Trick
As a Vladimir main, I wanted to maximize my chances of seeing his legacy skins in the Mystery Shop. Here’s what I did:
-
Bought all the non-legacy skins for Vladimir. This cleared out the “regular” skin options so the Mystery Shop would be more likely to offer the legacy ones.
-
Kept playing Vladimir regularly over the months, making sure the system recognized him as my main.
-
Waited patiently for the Mystery Shop to show up each month, keeping an eye out for those legacy skins.
And finally, on July 16, 2025, I got the Nosferatu Vladimir skin I’d been waiting for so long.
This method isn’t guaranteed magic, but it worked for me. If you want legacy skins for your main, owning all non-legacy skins and consistently playing that champion seems to increase your chances quite a bit.
Final Thoughts
Legacy skins always felt out of reach for me, like something you only get if you’re insanely lucky. But after testing this method with my main, I realized Your Shop isn’t as random as it seems.
Play your champ a lot. Buy all the non legacy skins. Wait for Your Shop to pop up. That’s what I did and eventually, it worked.
If you’ve been hoping to get that one rare skin for your main, give this a try. It’s not guaranteed, but it definitely beats praying to the Hextech gods every time you open an orb.
